Michael Garrett, MS, CCM, is responsible for the growth of Qualis Health as a regional and national provider of services to improve the quality and value in healthcare.

Garrett has worked for Qualis Health since 1988 in a variety of development, operational, and strategic positions. He led efforts to obtain new public and private sector customers who purchased a variety of utilization and case management services to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare services. He also provided executive oversight in the development and implementation of quality management programs as well as obtaining URAC accreditation for health utilization management, case management, and independent/external review.

Before he joined Qualis Health, Garrett worked for Intracorp for eight years as a rehabilitation specialist and in management roles.

Garrett holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Gonzaga University and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Idaho. He is a certified case manager, registered mental health counselor, certified vocational evaluator, and a nationally certified psychologist.

Garrett is a member of the Accreditation Committee of URAC, a commissioner with the Commission for Case Manager Certification, a member of the Case Management Leadership Coalition, and a member of the Leadership Council of the Academy of Certified Case Managers.

Garrett has published several journal articles on various aspects of care management, and has spoken at national and regional conferences. Garrett was a co-author with other Qualis Health representatives of the 1997 book entitled “Fundamentals of Case Management.” He recently authored a book published by the Health Insurance Association of America entitled “Case Management,” one of a series of books on medical management.
