Speakers & Agenda

Dan Diamond, M.D., is our keynote speaker on day one. With extensive experience leading boots-on-the-ground medical teams in response to natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and Typhoon Yolanda, Dr. Diamond is passionate about equipping teams to thrive under pressure. In his address titled “Burned Out or Fired Up? Changing Healthcare Culture from the Inside Out,” Diamond takes the burnout conversation beyond systems issues and external forces, and instead focuses on mindset as a catalyst for lasting resilience.

Tony Seikel, Ph.D., Idaho State University vice president of health sciences, is our keynote speaker on day two. During “Mind Games: Meeting the Challenge of Burnout through Mindfulness Meditation” you will learn to identify daily life risk factors of burnout as they arise and apply techniques to reduce their effects. You will also come away with a greater understanding of the growing body of neurophysiological evidence that supports mindfulness practices.
